TheMuttsNuts scoops Predictor’s Ultimate Prize worth up to £20,000
TheMuttsNuts proved as good as its moniker by scooping the Castrol EDGE Grand Prix Predictor’s Ultimate Prize – a combination of motorsport experiences worth £20,000.
A bold final gamble paid dividends as the team overturned a 43 point deficit heading into the final round of predictions to eventually finish on top, two points clear of the rest of the field.
“I still cannot believe I have won,” said TheMuttsNuts other alias Richard. “I thought that I was too far behind the leaders to catch them.
“I have not made any decisions on which prizes I will be taking, but the grand prix in Monaco is an absolute must.”
There was still everything to play for heading into the decisive final round at Interlagos, with long-time leaders FireHawk holding a 12 point advantage over FlyingCastrol.
TheMuttsNuts meanwhile was seventh, 43 points in arrears, giving it a large hurdle to overcome in the final round.
Faced with such a deficit, the choices for the denouement proved inspired as Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button were selected as the respective top three – a perfect prediction which led to a huge 60 point haul.

“I had altered a few selections as I thought that Mark Webber was due a win,” Richard said. “The rest was just a good guess really!”
As it was, ‘the rest’ was still very much needed. With FireHawk taking a solid 35 points, TheMuttsNuts still had 18 points to make up.
In came five-point hauls though for Fernando Alonso in fifth, Felipe Massa in sixth, Nico Rosberg in eighth and – crucially – Paul di Resta in ninth.
Victory, and the Ultimate Prize, was therefore clinched by The MuttsNuts.
We extend our congratulations to Richard for a superb campaign throughout the season, and of course our commiserations to FireHawk after putting up such a fierce challenge and coming so close.
